Ed Gatterdam

Ed Gatterdam was an accomplished collegiate official whose career included working the NCAA Tournament, a testament to his exceptional skill and professionalism. Within the KBOA, he served as President in 1981–82 and represented the association at Boys State in 1981.

After retiring from the floor, Ed continued to give back by serving as an Observer for Rip, helping develop and mentor the next generation of officials. Known affectionately as “Dancing Eddie,” he brought both talent and personality to every gym he entered.

His contributions, leadership, and unique spirit remain a memorable part of the KBOA’s history.
