KBOA CHRISTMAS FUND
For the 35th straight year, the Kentuckiana Basketball Officials Association will be accepting donations for KBOA’s Annual Christmas Fund. Through donations made by KBOA members and Louisville area residents, nearly $75,000 has been collected and shared with more than 160 families.
Steve Coffman, retired KBOA member, has been involved in the Christmas Fund every year since its inception. In 1987, the first year of the Christmas Fund, the KBOA collected $806. The money was donated a local Louisville charity.
KBOA members now go Christmas shopping with a family in need so the family can have something that would not be possible without the KBOA’s help, a Christmas holiday with gifts and a great meal.
“Going shopping with a family is one of most rewarding things you can do,” says Coffman. “Being able to help a local family and give them a Christmas they will remember is an indescribable feeling and warms a person’s heart.”
