Barbara Peak has long been one of the KBOA’s most selfless and influential members. In recognition of her extraordinary commitment to others, the Assignor’s Award is named in her honor and is presented to the member who best demonstrates true selflessness and unwavering service to the association.
Barbara’s excellence and dedication were recognized many times throughout her career. She was named Member of the Year in 2013, received the President’s Award in 2002, and earned the prestigious Gold Whistle Award in 2005. Her on-court performance led to assignments at the Girls State Tournament in 2001, 2002, and 2004, as well as the All-A State Tournament in 2004 and 2005.
Known for always putting others first, Barbara sees the good in everyone and has been a steady, positive force for decades within the KBOA. She played a major role in organizing and supporting the KBOA Banquet, and she continued giving back as an Observer, helping guide and mentor officials across the association.
Beyond basketball, Barbara’s lasting impact is also recognized in the golf community— she was inducted into the Kentucky PGA Hall of Fame, further highlighting her leadership, integrity, and service.
Barbara Peak’s kindness, generosity, and dedication to uplifting others have made her one of the most beloved figures in KBOA history. Her legacy continues to inspire every member who follows.
