Cathy Stovall was known for taking care of business every time she stepped on the court. Her strength, composure, and no-nonsense approach earned her tremendous respect from coaches, players, and fellow officials.

She represented the KBOA at the Girls State Tournament in 1990, 1992, and 1997, and worked the All-A State Tournament in 1992, showcasing her consistency and high-level performance.

Cathy’s nickname, “Blood and Guts,” captured her reputation perfectly. If a game got tough—or if tensions escalated—you wanted her on the floor. She handled difficult situations with confidence and authority, making her one of the most dependable officials of her era.

Her toughness, presence, and professionalism remain defining parts of her legacy within the KBOA.
