Ron Monks

An All-State football player at Manual High School, he carried the same toughness and presence from the gridiron onto the basketball court. Known by the nickname “Boomer,” he brought a strong, commanding style to every game he worked.

He was respected by coaches and players alike for being a no-nonsense official—firm, fair, and always in control. His excellence was recognized with the Gold Whistle Award, and he proudly represented the KBOA at Girls State in 1988.

His reputation for strength, consistency, and professionalism remains an enduring part of his legacy.
