The KBOA #1 Rated Official Award is presented in memory of Steve Bauer, who embodied every attribute of a true “Number One” official. Steve demonstrated unwavering dedication, commitment, and professionalism throughout his career. His leadership, determination, and courage left a lasting impact on the KBOA and everyone who worked alongside him.

Steve’s passion for officiating, his loyalty to fellow officials, and his unmatched enthusiasm for life made him a remarkable presence within our association. His contributions continue to influence and inspire us.

Over the course of his career, Steve received both the President’s Award and the Gold Whistle, served as KBOA President in 1994–95, and represented our association at Girls State in 1993 and Boys State in 1996.
